Community Outreach Ministries provides services for people all over Polk County. Hundreds of families come through our doors for meals every month. It takes your support to be able to provide food for these neighbors of ours, as well as to keep all the other aspects of our ministry functioning.
We deeply appreciate any and all gifts, no matter how small. Monetary gifts are also eligible for the Missouri Food Pantry Tax Credit. There are several ways to give:
Online: You may donate online via the panel on the right.
ACH Giving: If you would like to set up automatic monthly donations to COM through your checking or savings account, give us a call at 417-326-2769 or email us at email@example.com
Checks/Cash: You may mail or bring by checks for donations. Checks should be made out to "Community Outreach Ministries of Bolivar." Cash should be brought by our offices (not mailed). You can drop off donations at our offices Tuesday through Saturday by asking for either the Executive Director or Director of Finance. Our offices are located at 320 S. Market St., Bolivar, MO 65613 (behind the fire department).
Facebook: Create a Facebook fundraiser to use your circle of influence for good. Simply go to the fundraising page at to www.facebook.com/fund/CommunityOutreachMinistriesBolivar/ to create your own Facebook fundraiser for us.
Estate Giving: Leaving a gift to COM in your will is a great way to leave a legacy in your community. If you are interested in this, please give us a call beforehand so we can discuss with you the most sustainable and beneficial ways in which part of your estate can help our mission.
Endowment Fund: COM has an endowment fund through Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The interest from this fund helps fund our everyday operational expenses. If you have a gift you would like to put toward this fund, you may contact Community Foundation of the Ozarks or give by credit card by clicking here! If you plan on writing COM into part of your will, this is a great way to do it.
Items/Property: We accept donations of household items and furniture for use in our thrift store Tuesday through Saturday from 10-1. To learn more about giving to the thrift store, click here. For larger gifts, such as vehicles or real estate, please call us at 417-326-2769.
If you choose to give via the "Salvation Army" be sure to type the designation Polk County in the box under the donation amounts if you want that money to be used by us as a local extension unit. Please note, donations given to the Salvation Army rather than to Community Outreach Ministries can only be used for Salvation Army benevolence programs at COM, not food pantry or other COM programs.
COM is only able to provide these services to the community with YOUR help. Donate today to help the families in our community!
Did you know the CARES Act created a “universal charitable deduction,” for cash donations up to $300 to a qualified organization. This means if you donate $300 to COM in 2020 your gross income will be reduced by $300 AND you can still claim the standard deduction on your 2021 tax return. We ask that you consider giving a monthly gift of $40 for the rest of the year or a one-time $300 donation to take advantage of this tax break. With your support, we can support families in Polk County!
